The LUSO-BRAZILIAN FINANCE NETWORK is an informal network of Finance researchers from Brazil and Portugal. The main goal of the Network is to reinforce the existing links between Finance researchers from Brazil and Portugal. Other researchers interested in interacting with these two communities are also welcome.

The Luso-Brazilian Meeting: Since its foundation in 2007, The LUSO-BRAZILIAN FINANCE NETWORK has organized ten meetings, where its members presented their ongoing research: Fortaleza in 2007, Funchal in 2008, Rio de Janeiro in 2009, Évora in 2010, Natal in 2011, Coimbra in 2012, Búzios in 2013, the Douro Valley in 2014, Óbidos in 2015 and Ouro Preto in 2016.

Call for Papers: The eleventh Luso-Brazilian Finance Meeting will be held at Hotel Terra Nostra in Furnas, 40 km away from Ponta Delgada, the capital city of the Azores archipelago in the Island of Sao Miguel, Portugal from April 7, 2017 (Friday) to April 9, 2017 (Sunday). Authors are invited to participate in the Meeting and to submit papers in all areas of Finance: asset pricing, behavioral finance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, derivatives, emerging markets, financial institutions, finance theory, market microstructure, mathematical finance, international finance, managerial accounting, and related topics.

Meeting Format: The organizing committee will select eight papers to be presented on April 8 (morning and afternoon) and in the morning of April 9. Presentations of these papers will last 45 minutes each, followed by comments from two discussants. The other papers accepted to the meeting will be presented on April 7, starting at 6 pm. This early section consists of short presentations (10 minutes each), without assigned discussants.

Submission: Submissions must be sent electronically to any of the organizers listed below. In the email, please send your paper in PDF format, including the following information: i) Title; ii) Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s); iii) The authors’ addresses, e-mails, telephone numbers, and fax numbers; iv) Which author(s) will attend the meeting. There is no charge to submit to the Meeting.

Deadline: The deadline for submission is December 31st, 2016. The organizing committee will announce the accepted papers by January 31, 2017.
